Greg Day 4 Carlsbad

Over 20 years ago, Carlsbad created a growth management plan that requires the city to have 40% open space, providing access to our incredible hiking trails, lagoons, and public spaces.  In the last several years, Sacramento politicians have passed legislation to run roughshod over our growth management plan and all local controls.  From regional housing number requirements to new developments that don’t require parking, local control is being demolished.

Carlsbad can and must fight to get control of its future back.  To this end I will support advocacy efforts in Sacramento with our North County neighbors and other California Cities.  I will also insist that SANDAG return to a normal voting procedure where every city has an equal vote.  And where possible, I support our cities seeking legal avenues to stop Sacramento from taking ever more local control.

Carlsbad needs to join with our other California Cities and Counties in wrestling back control of our cities.  I can pledge my support, vote and effort toward this goal.
